Launch of 'Up and Over the Digital Divide - With ONSPEED' Programme

Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur - March 23rd 2006 - UK Internet Acceleration company ONSPEED and the Malaysian based media / telecommunications strategy company Teamwork are delighted to announce the launch of a programme to help communities overcome the 'digital divide'. ONSPEED is to be deployed in Malaysia and other Asia Pacific countries as a key influence in meeting governments' targets of improved Broadband penetration.

Teamwork CEO, Norm Hosken comments: "By introducing the programme called "Up and Over the Digital Divide - With ONSPEED", we will provide a selected school and a local business association with ONSPEED on a gratis basis for a year. We aim to evaluate the impact that ONSPEED makes to these communities and use the experience to help other local communities as well as other countries in the region to isolate innovative and cost-effective ways using ONSPEED to tackle the Digital Divide".

He further added: "We are very aware of the Malaysian Government's key concern that Malaysia should attain a target of ten percent of the entire population enjoying the benefits of Broadband Internet by the year 2008". "The application of ONSPEED to Malaysia's existing Dial-up subscriber base of 2,500,000 could, in effect, achieve that goal overnight!"

ONSPEED, through a simple software download, allows users to browse the web and send and receive emails up to five times faster without the need for additional hardware. It can be used with any Internet connection anywhere in the world regardless of the user's Internet Service Provider. The beauty of ONSPEED is its simplicity. ONSPEED resides as software within the user's computer and automatically enables the compression of transmitted data. The secret behind ONSPEED's success is Content Sensitive Compression (CSC), which is based on a complex series of algorithms that compress and then optimize content by each individual file within an email or web page, providing a dramatic improvement in access speeds. The technology is backed by nine patents. The benefits to ONSPEED users, apart from making their Internet connections faster, can also be assessed in terms of the savings of connection time costs - especially in the case of Dial-up subscribers.

ONSPEED costs equate to RM15 per month. With ONSPEED, Dial-up users will experience savings on every minute of their connection time. Efficiency and productivity will be improved by up to 500%, essentially at one fifth of the cost of broadband.

ONSPEED Version 5.0 is available immediately from www.OnSpeedAsia.com for an annual payment of RM 180.00 as a small 1.36Mb download, which takes less than 4 minutes to install. It is compatible with Windows and MAC and also works on Pocket PC and PDA's.

Teamwork is inviting towns or communities with no Broadband access to email them and present a case for why they should be selected.
